Reality hits you surprisingly hard

This week after dreaming discussing buying the boat and planning out adventures the reality hit. We jumped on two planes picked up the hire car and managed to get our four heavy bags from the UK to France.

So having arrived late we headed to Novera in the morning. Last time I saw her in October the sun was shining there was a light breeze and we enjoyed a short sail while she went through her inspection. However arriving tired on a very damp and dreary March day was very different. She still looked great but climbing aboard the gravity of what we are doing and the change hit me. I of course thought I hid it well, but Tim said my face was a picture! 'Oh my goodness what are we doing!!'

Of course after an hour of bringing in some of our things, clearing a little space for what we want where and buying some nice homely bits Novera felt as exciting as she did that day in October. The weather was irrelevant, the space felt great, and my energy was back as was my excitement.

Retirement, then just a few days later arriving in France, with so much to learn and lots to do to get ready to go - the reality hit.

But every adventure takes courage and a little madness!!
